Electrical Load Balancer

Greedy assignment of single-phase loads to A / B / C of a 3-phase panel, minimizing phase imbalance. 3-phase loads contribute equally to all phases; 1-phase loads are sorted largest-first and assigned to the currently least-loaded phase. Unbalance reported per NEMA MG-1 § 14.36.

References: NEMA MG-1-2021 Sec 14.36 (Voltage Unbalance Effects); IEEE Std 141-1993 (Red Book, Industrial Power Systems Design). Unbalance % = 100 × (max phase deviation from average) / average phase load. The greedy heuristic is typically within 1–2% of optimal for practical panels; true optimal requires a small ILP.
