The following standards and publications are referred to herein
STANDARDS AND PUBLICATIONS
DEFINITIONS
- Contractor - Company or business that agrees to furnish materials or perform specified services at a specified price and/or rate to the Owner.
- Inspector - A Inflection Point Engineering, LLC appointed engineer or inspector.
- Manufacturer - The recipient of a direct or indirect purchase order for materials and/or equipment. In this context, a direct order is one issued to a Manufacturer by a Contractor or the Owner. An indirect order is one issued to a Manufacturer by a vendor (recipient of a direct order) for materials, fabricated components, or subassemblies.
- Owner - Inflection Point Engineering, LLC.
- Owner's Engineer - A Inflection Point Engineering, LLC appointed engineer.
- Purchaser - The party placing a direct purchase order. The Purchaser is the Owner's designated representative.
LAYOUT
- Requirements for layout of equipment are covered in EP 3-2-1.
- (*) Specific requirements for piping, electrical, and instrument connections to packaged equipment or units shall be specified by the Owner's Engineer.
- (*) Specific limitations on package envelope, location, orientation, structural or baseplate interfaces shall be specified by the Owner's Engineer. Minimum equipment and package envelope location spacings shall be per EP 3-2-1.
EQUIPMENT
- All equipment used on packaged equipment or units shall meet the requirements of the applicable IPE Engineering Practices, see Table 1.Table 1.
- (*) The Data Sheets from the applicable IPE Engineering Practices shall be used to specify individual pieces of equipment. Manufacturer's Data Sheets covering the complete packaged equipment or unit shall also be completed, unless otherwise specified by the Owner's Engineer.
- (*) All equipment and materials shall be selected from the the Owner's Manufacturers (vendors) list. Deviations to this list shall require approval from the Owner.
DOCUMENTATION
- Documentation requirements for individual pieces of equipment are covered in the applicable IPE Engineering Practice, see Table 1, and the additional requirements of this Practice. For the specific package under consideration, only the applicable IPE Engineering Practices become part of the requirements of this Practice.Table 1
- The Manufacturer shall furnish four (4) copies of equipment layout drawings. These drawings shall indicate the locations of exchangers, vessels, tanks, valves, piping, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation and any other dimensions required to determine if there is suitable clearance for operation and maintenance. The layout drawings shall include location and dimensions for all tie-ins and physical interfaces.
- The Manufacturer shall supply a spare parts list with prices and a list of recommended spare parts for startup and one year's operation. These parts lists shall include information on all equipment and auxiliaries. The parts list shall include the Manufacturer's identification number, vendor catalog number for subassemblies, and descriptive names of the parts.
- (*) All special drawing and document format requirements not covered in the applicable IPE Engineering Practices shall be defined by the Owner's Engineer.
INSPECTION AND TESTING
- Inspection and testing requirements for individual pieces of equipment are covered in the applicable IPE Engineering Practices, see Table 1, and the additional requirements of this Practrice.Table 1,
- (*) The Manufacturer shall submit procedures for testing packaged equipment and units to the Owner's Engineer for review and written approval.
- When practical, the unit shall be put in operation to simulate operating conditions as closely as possible. Flammable materials shall not be used during shop testing.
- When practical all system malfunctions shall be simulated and the safety shutdown system checked.
- Refrigeration packages shall be leak tested (valves, connections, welds, etc.) with soap glycerol and water solution.
PACKAGING AND SHIPPING
- Requirements for packaging and shipping are covered in the applicable IPE Engineering Practices, see Table 1, EP 14-1-5, and the additional requirements of this Practice.Table 1,
- The complete package equipment or unit shall be shop assembled and checked for fit up prior to being disassembled for shipment.
- Disassembly for shipment shall be such that only a minimum amount of field reassembly is required. The Manufacturer shall supply the Owner with a list of all required field assembly
