CoInafsletcatilo nA Prouinbta E nEgningeeirninege Prriancgtic Pesractices Flexible Metal Hoses 8.2 A line–by–line description of the information to be provided on the data sheet is provided in the following subparagraphs. Each subparagraph number refers to a line number on the data sheet. An asterisk indicates that additional information is to be furnished by the Purchaser. All items without an asterisk are either stipulated in this Practice or are to be filled in by the Manufacturer. The data sheet is designed for a standard metal flexible hose. For non–standard flexible hoses, attach a drawing to the data sheet and note “see drawing” in each space where the information is provided on the drawing. 1. (*)Specify the number of the line in which the hose is being placed. 2. (*)Specify the quantity of this hose to be supplied. 3. (*)Specify the hose nominal diameter. 4. (*)Specify the process media including its state and percent concentration. 5. (*)Specify the flow rate. 6. (*)Specify the required design temperature of the hose. 7. (*)Specify the required design pressure of the hose. 8. (*)The test pressure shall be in accordance with Paragraph 6.5. The manufacturer shall determine the required test pressure in accordance with these rules. 9. Lateral cold springing is not allowed unless piping layout limits the live length of a hose, see Paragraph 7.6.5. 10. Angular cold springing is not allowed unless piping layout limits the live length of a hose, see Paragraph 7.6.5. 11. (*)Specify maximum lateral design movement from the undeformed position. 12. (*)Specify maximum angular design movements. 13. (*)Specify the number of displacement cycles required for the life of the hose. 14. (*)Specify if design movement testing is required, see Paragraph 6.8. 15. (*)Specify the corrugated hose material required. 16. (*)Specify the corrugated hose thickness required. 17. (*)Specify the corrugated hose corrugations per foot required 18. (*)Specify the corrugated hose live length required. 19. (*)Specify the required overall length of the hose or ask the Manufacturer to report this length. 20. Braid material shall be a 300 series SS, see Paragraph 4.3. The Manufacturer shall report the braid material used. 21. (*)Specify if single or double braided hose is required. 22. The Manufacturer shall report the spacer nipple material, see Paragraph 4.4. 23. The Manufacturer shall report the spacer nipple nominal pipe size and nipple thickness. 24. The Manufacturer shall report the upstream fitting material, see Paragraph 4.2. 25. (*)Specify the upstream fitting type required. 26. The Manufacturer shall report the required upstream fitting class for the design pressure and temperature. 27. The Manufacturer shall report the downstream fitting material, see Paragraph 4.2. 28. (*)Specify the downstream fitting type required. 29. The Manufacturer shall report the required downstream fitting class for the design pressure and temperature. 30. (*)Specify if a 100% liquid penetrant inspection of the corrugated hose longitudinal weld prior to and after forming of the corrugations is required, see Paragraph 6.2. 31. (*)Specify if 100% liquid penetrant inspection of the capping weld prior to fitting weld is required, see Paragraph 6.3.
