CoInafsletcatilo nA Prouinbta E nEgningeeirninege Prriancgtic Pesractices Check Valves 7.4 A line–by–line description of the information to be provided on the data sheet is provided in the following subparagraphs. Each subparagraphs number refers to a line number on the data sheet. An asterisk (*) indicates information that is to be furnished by the Purchaser. All items without an asterisk are stipulated in either EP 5–3–1 or this Practice, or are to be completed by the Manufacturer. 4) (*)Specify valve tag identification. 5) (*)Specify the valve size corresponding to the nominal pipe sizes in ASME/ANSI B16.34 or API 594, as applicable. 6) (*)Specify the valve class per ASME/ANSI B16.34 or API 594, as applicable. 7) (*)Specify the design metal temperature for water type valves. 8) Specify the body type (wafer, wafer–lug, or double flanged body), see API 594 section 4.1.3. If a wafer type valve is specified, a fire shield per EP 11–2–2 must be used. 9) (*)Specify the valve end connection type: flanged ends including facing; or welded ends, including bore; or threaded connection. Refer to paragraph 5.6 for additional information. 10) Specify an integral or welded flange, if flanged connection. 11) (*)Specify valve type; wafer check, or flanged or butt welding swing check with bolted cover. 12) (*)Specify mating flange standard for wafer check valves, see paragraph 4.1.4 of API 594. 13) (*)Specify facing for wafer valves, see paragraph 4.1.5 and 4.1.6 of API 594 or the flange facing, see paragraph 5.6. 14) (*)Specify drain connections, see paragraphs 4.1.7 of API 594 for wafer type valves, and ASME/ANSI B16.34 for swing type check valve. 15) (*)Specify integral or removable body seats. 16) Specify lifting eyebolts. 17) Specify the bolt holes: flange–through or threaded bolt holes in lugs, see API 594 section 4.1.11 and Figure 3. 18) (*)Specify type of wafer valve; dual plate or single plate. 19) (*)Specify valve body materials, see paragraph 4.1. 20) Specify the cover gasket and/or bonnet flange facing, see paragraph 4.2. 21) Specify cover bolt material. 22) Specify the hole size for flapper plate. Drilled flapper plates are used for valves in rotating equipment service, see EP 5–6–2. 23) (*)Specify the API trim number, nominal trim material, and any required exceptions to manufacturer’s permissible options, see paragraph 4.1. 24) Specify inspection and testing requirements per EP 5–3–24. 25) Specify the alternative color of the valve or no painting, see API 594 section 8.1.2. 26) Specify packaging, see requirements of EP 5–3–21. 27) Specify additional notes, if required.
