Contractor - Company or business that agrees to furnish materials or perform specified services at a specified price and/or rate to the Owner.
Table 1 shall be used for determining the correct reduction ratios needed to produce drawings of differing sizes on the standard microfilm format.
Microfilms of drawings shall, if at all possible, be made from the original tracings. The original drawings or material for microfilming shall be dark lined with dark characters on a light background. The drawings shall be of as uniform density as possible. Light rework over extensive erasures will not reproduce satisfactorily. Rework shall match density of original drawings. Care should be taken that details or characters do not appear within an inch of the match line between frames. Each section covered by a microfilm “frame” shall have the drawing number, revision and frame number on it.
Only one drawing or document shall be on each frame. (Exception: Computerized spool and detached bill of material which may be filmed two documents per frame). The “frame” is the total exposed area of microfilm, regardless of whether or not the area is filled by the document image.
| Drawing Size (1) | Reduction Ratio |
|---|---|
| 11 x 8–1/2 | 16X |
| 11 x 17 | 16X |
| 11 x 22 | 16X |
| 22 x 34 | 24X |
| 34 x 44 | 30X |
Roll drawings exceeding 40 Inches in length shall be divided into frames to ensure proper microfilming.
