Distillation cut-point yield analysis. Given a feed TBP curve (vol % vs. temperature) and a set of cut-point temperatures, interpolates the vol % at each cut and reports the LV% yield for each product stream (naphtha, kero, diesel, gas oil, residue). Material balance closure verification included.
Method: The TBP curve is treated as a monotone piecewise-linear function vol%(T). For each cut temperature Tcut, the cumulative vol% is found by linear interpolation between the flanking (T, vol%) points. The LV% yield of a cut is the difference between consecutive cumulative vol %'s. Negative yields or closure ≠ 100% indicate TBP-data errors or cut points outside the curve range. References: ASTM D2892 (true boiling point distillation); ASTM D86 correlated to TBP via Daubert/Riazi; standard crude-unit yield accounting practice.
