Calculators
Three modes in one calculator: (1) heat conservation for hot pipe with a max-loss target (cylindrical resistance network); (2) personnel protection per ASTM C1055 (140°F surface); (3) condensation control for cold service with a dew-point check. Rebuilt from v4 — thermal-conductivity rounding and flat-wall equation fixes applied.
Standards: ASTM C585 (pipe insulation thicknesses), ASTM C1055 (personnel surface-burn prevention — 140°F target), ASTM C680 (heat-loss estimation), 3E Plus methodology, CINI Manual. v4 fixes: (1) insulation k no longer rounded to nearest 0.5 (prior ROUND(k*2,0)/2 zeroed typical ~0.03–0.05 BTU/hr·ft·°F values); (2) flat-wall equation L = 12k(T1−T2)/[h(T2−T3)] applied correctly; (3) surface-temp verification uses the full resistance network. Typical k (BTU/hr·ft·°F, at 200°F): aerogel 0.012, fiberglass 0.022, mineral wool 0.025, polyiso 0.020, perlite 0.032, cellular glass 0.036, calcium silicate 0.044.
