Calculators
Friction head loss, elevation head, and hydraulic gradient for a single pipe segment using Darcy–Weisbach with Swamee–Jain friction factor.
Method: Darcy–Weisbach hf = f(L/D)v²/(2g); Swamee–Jain friction factor f = 0.25/[log10(ε/(3.7D) + 5.74/Re0.9)]2. Valid for 5,000 ≤ Re ≤ 108 and 10-6 ≤ ε/D ≤ 0.01. Single-segment screening — for multi-segment profiles or detailed surge analysis, use a dedicated hydraulic simulator (PIPE-FLO, AFT Fathom).
