Fluid catalytic cracker feed conversion, product yields, and total furnace duty for a given feed rate, API gravity, and yield structure.

Method: Feed mass rate (lb/hr) = BPD · 1.489 · (API+131.5)/131.5 (density conversion from API gravity to lb/hr through 42 gal/bbl · 8.345 / 24). Conversion (%wt) ≈ 70 + 2 · (C/O − 5) as a simple correlation. Each product rate = feed mass · yield/100. Endothermic heat of cracking ≈ 250 Btu/lb feed, feed sensible at Cp ≈ 0.6 Btu/lb·°F between preheat and riser outlet.
